UPDATE!

Wednesday Oct 13, 2010
Dress fitting was spectacular :) YAY!
Tux fitting for the men went swell :)
Everything is coming together :)

Now..we have our final lists that we need to get accomplished...we have so much we need to do it's insane! All I know, is I can't wait for it to be here and be done :) I cannot wait to be Mrs. Michalski!!
YAY!
This past weekend, we took everything wedding that was done, to my parents house and we actually have quite a bit done, it sorta surprised me lol
Just need final counts and what not!
Oh and to those who are wondering. I have a new goal. By the time I am 25, I want to be a volunteer fire fighter. Just in case you were curious :)

a month away, and I have no idea what to do!

So, how is the wedding planning coming along? Are you ready? Is everything done? What do you have left? AUGH.
I honestly want it to be done and planned and here!! !!
We have almost paid off our caterer only to find out now we have to add 70 plates to it :( more money to pay due to it! We found out that our initial table count has gone up as well, so we don't have enough center pieces, but I have decided we ARE making due with what we have. simple as that. We have also realized that we have a lot more expenses creeping up on us like drinks for the reception, marriage license, and parties :)
We just had our couples shower on October 2nd and it was a blast :) we had quite a few show,  but some didn't that I would have liked. Either way, it was fun and our families got along great!
We have decided to do our bachelor/ette parties on October 23rd, and those plans are coming along nicely. The girls are meeting at the hotel we reserved to play games and such and then go to dinner. We are then heading to the bars :) hazzah! Afterwards we can go to the hotel and swim till midnight (hopefully later if the manager working is good :)) and the boys will be there as well :)
My final dress fitting is oct 13th and I am so excited :) I hope it looks fantastic! and cannot wait to be in it again!!! :) YAY! the boys have their tux fitting that night as well....We are also going to get our marriage license that day :)
The first week of nov I am going to get my hair done again for the wedding so that's more money :( but I can't wait cuz my stylist is AmAzInG! :)
Then the wedding that we are not quite prepared for but are going to have anyway :) is the 13th of November, we're still working on our backdrop, our table clothes, our runners, and sooo much more, but mostly all the lil things that take too much time are done. we still need to add music to our slideshow, but that should honestly be a peace of cake once we get all the pictures added. We just have a couple more to add to it from the couples shower !
anyway, I think this is the best update I have, so yeah...that's our life right now..trying to do well in school, working full time trying to make bonus, and planning this wedding...

oh yeah, we're taking a mini vaca right after the wedding.. the weekend afterward we are going to MN to hang out for the weekend...cannot wait to get away! (and next year of course is the honeymoon to HAWAII!!)

Love and peace!

WoW

So, it's been a while since I've posted. I have had soo much to do!!
Wedding planning is coming along quite well. We have had a couple rocks in our way, but we're moving past them the best way we can.
Our jobs are going swell, it's so nice to try and save money now instead of living paycheck to paycheck. literally.
And we're doing quite well ourselves. We started p90x this week and it's looking like it could be a good outcome because we love every hard min of it!
I am getting quite irritated with other aspects of our lives though. You can def tell the people that care the most about you, which is saddening when you find out it wasn't who you thought it was. :( I'll be honest. Some things fell through and I feel horrible about it, but to not get support when you need it sucks. And by the way, if you are reading this, yes, this is about you.
I am getting so excited for the wedding! I can't wait to see everyone, and I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams :)..The days seem to be going faster and are getting more stressful, but in the end it'll all be worth it, or at least that's what I have been told.
Anyway, we're almost done with our slideshow for dinner, we just have to add music, and I will warn you! It's gonna be long, but not boring (I hope)..

Anyway, I have to get ready for class, yep work and school, and wedding planning!, so hope whoever is reading this enjoyed!

in..vitations :)

So this last Saturday, me and Bill spent HOURS working on our invitations. We FINALLY got them done about 6.5 hours after we started. We printed labels, stuffed envelopes, put labels on, stamped, and wax sealed all 140 of them in 6 hours. AUGH! lol, but we sent them out Monday morning and had heard by Tuesday afternoon that many of the people close to us had recieved our wonderful invites :) lol...some had told me that they sent them back the same day, so we waited until today to start watching for them...tonight after work, we checked the mail, and low and behold 5 envelopes were in the mail. It was so fun opening each one and finding out the "results" :). A couple we already knew in our hearts would be there, but it's still so much fun to open them and see that our family and friends sent them back anyway :)

I just wanted to share my excitement of getting RSVP's. It's such a tedious task to do them all , but in the end when you start getting your answers back, it's all worth it !

A Piece of Advice?

So, after some serious thinking, we have decided as a couple, and with our families, that when it comes time for picture taking at our wedding, we have some ground rules. We want nothing more than lots and lots of memories, but we want to post those memories ourselves and first. We are going to ask that :::
At our wedding, you take as many pictures as you would like at the ceremony and reception (AND PLEASE by all means DO!). We are also going to ask that you do NOT post them on any internet sharing site (MySpace, Facebook etc..) until we get the chance to do so ourselves. We would like for you to upload them to our picture sharing site (this site, under the tab Shutterfly). I will get step by step directions for you later. We and our families would really appreciate if you respect our wishes!!
My Grandma Gwen, my mom, and me. 3 Generations. RIP grandma, we love and miss you soo very much

wedding invites....and addresses

Just when you think you're getting somewhere...augh lol
I have had to look up and hunt people down to get addresses..I thought I had everyone like 2 months ago...today as I am trying to print out a FINAL (the third or fourth FINAL) list, another 2 names come up and I am on the hunt yet again! Just wanna put out there what a pain in the neck this is! I am now best friends with facebook, yellowpages, whitepages, and many other address finding webpages...Anyway, going back to my hunt...Hopefully I will have my LAST FINAL list printed today! Wish me luck!
Peace!

Wedding Planning

So, now that I am done with my other job, I think I can get a start on wedding planning again. I think I am going to start working on getting the invites out and I would like to get started on a few other things.
As I am going through things and I try and figure out what things I want and don't want, I come across A LOT of wedding blogs, sites, and forums. The things other brides say about wedding ideas that aren't their own. WOW! Now, here's the thing, I am a "diy" type of girl and I love the idea of personalizing my wedding by doing it that way. I do a lot of research on things before I make up my mind completely and I change ideas frequently. But when I come across an idea or tradition that I think is ..uh.. not me....I don't trash talk it, I don't stew over it, and I am not rude about it. I think about it, decide it's not for me....and MOVE ON. But there are some brides who do otherwise. While some of the things I might agree with, and I might find humorous, I would never say that to the person and I would never trash talk it! The only thing I am going to show on this blog, is the brides that are trash talking other brides ideas and traditions. I am not going to comment on them, and if the bother you, they probably do me as well, hence why I am posting them here in the first place :)...
These are just a list of the things I found that if one bride likes, another thinks is horrible tacky, or useless, or worthless, or stupid, or ...whatever

1.  Plastic Tablecloths
2. Dollar Dance
3. Garter toss/Bouquet toss
4. Guests wearing white to the  wedding
5. Photo Booth
6. Wearing flip flops
7. Having bm wear the same shoes and/or dresses and/or hairstyle
8. Having bm wear different shoes and/or dresses and/or hairstyle
9. Honeymoon fund
10. Having a registry
11. Not having a registry
12. Not having a full meal at the reception
13. Not having alcohol
14. Not having an open bar
15. Having your initials on things at the wedding or reception
16. Having a second dress for the reception
17. Staying in your wedding dress for the reception and taking your shoes off
18. Linking arms during the toast
19. Pushing cake into your new spouses face during cake cutting ( I happen to agree this is rude and this is the ONLY one that I have such an opinion on, that it will be loud and clear to anyone who says anything lol)
20. Having a videographer or not having a videographer
21. Spending a ton of money on flowers, or food, or decorations, or photography (or not spending enough money on these things)
22. Thinking everything has to go perfect to the point if one minor thing falls apart, you're a mess
23. It's a bad thing to leave goody bags for out of town guests, but it's tacky not to

Anyway, this is just a small list I have come across. Yes, these are ridiculous. It's your wedding, do what you want. If other people think it's tacky, so what. At the end of the day, you will still be married (*hopefully lol) and that's that. I am pretty sure this day is a celebration for you and your family and friends about the joining of two people happily in love. If you take away from that by stressing on small things and worrying if your best friends, brothers, aunts, grandma is going to think your pew bows are tacky, then you my friend, are ruining your own day :)
That's all.
<3 From one bride to many others...take it easy and enjoy it!

Lose lose

I am to the point with some things, that if nobody speaks up, I will and this could be very bad. I am tired of the people who think walking all over another person close to them, is ok. I am tired of the people who think ignoring someone because another person suddenly reappeared in their life, is ok. I am tired of the person not standing up for themselves because not doing it is what they know. I am tired of the it's always my fault and I apologize for everything game. I guess when they say life isn't fair, that's the truth of the matter. Yesterday, I finally had a melt down about everything. I spose if that wouldn't have happened, things would go very badly today. I just wish some people could see the damage they are doing to their relationship with a person that means something to them. I guess I dunno what that something is, since they continue to treat the other person like crap. I would so love to say something, but in one case, it's not my place, and in another case, the other person would probably just stray away even farther. It's a lose lose situation and I hate it because I usually say what's on my mind, and now I am waiting. Waiting for when the time is right and when I know it's safe to say what is on my mind. Hope God is listening and can figure out what to do with this situation cuz I am done trying. I will be here, but the effort I am putting forth is done. I think it has been for a while because the other people haven't done so either. Why should I put forth any effort when the other person isn't? Why should I put myself in a situation where I am obviously not wanted? And why should I allow myself to be hurt from the same bs that I have been hurt from before?
Good Question.

Hmm

So, as I go about my wedding planning, I have come across many things. One being the word tacky.

Tacky as defined on dictionary.com is---

–adjective, tack·i·er, tack·i·est.
1. not tasteful or fashionable; dowdy.
2. shabby in appearance; shoddy: a tacky, jerry-built housing development.
3. crass; cheaply vulgar; tasteless; crude.
4. gaudy; flashy; showy.

I am starting to seriously dislike this word on fb pages, blogs, and wedding sites. Other brides use this word to describe the way another bride is doing invites, registries, and omg centerpieces. I am pretty sure it's YOUR wedding, do what YOU want, and YOU will be fine :).
Anyway, this brings me to my next point. When talking about registries, I have heard doing one is absolutely rude, not doing one is rude, having a honeymoon registry is rude, not having one is rude...so what is it?! I personally think that if you have been living on your own, or have been living with your soon to be spouse, isn't it redundant to ask for things you probably already have? But straight up asking for money is rude too isn't it. The answer to this dilemma. DO WHAT YOU WANT. I am sure your family will understand!
Next point...as I was reading other blogs, I came across one soon to be bride who was trashing on some of the things other brides do at their weddings/receptions. All I have to say, is I hope that someone reads your speil and comes to your wedding only to notice the things you were trash talking. It's not just rude, but "tacky" to trash talk other people's wedding ideas especially when you aren't close to yours yet. If you don't like the idea, move on, get over it, and find a new idea. Simple, yet so many people have sooo many issues with this!

Anyway, soon I will be posting some things I have found to be interesting reads...I just don't have time to do so today, as in less than half an hour, I will be picked up to do my first dress fitting :) But when I get back, I promise I will show exactly what I am talking about without being tacky myself :)
Peace.

Wedding planning?

I sorta wish that wedding planning was easier. Just when you think you have a grasp on things, more things keep popping up! AUGH! lol

BUT...I just got confirmation that as of tomorrow all of my BM's will have ordered their dresses. They want to get together for a girls day to try and figure out bachelorette and bridal shower stuff.

I have my invitation list and now I just need to print them on labels. I need to finish the gm gifts. We need to pay for catering, dj, and videographer. We need to buy the odds and ends (which by the way, the list keeps getting longer!)

I am soo excited for Thursday for my first dress fitting and my trial hair run. I am also doing makeup to make sure it will agree with my skin. I am so excited yet, I sooo wish there was more time! AUGH! lol

Anyway, that's all that's on my mind right now ..

DIY?

So almost everything for my wedding has been do it yourself type. I would love to post how I did it, or pictures, but unfortunately that will have to wait :) I will definately post them after the wedding for anyone (if there is anyone) who reads this :)

For example, I will have directions for:
-card box
-guest book
-bouquets and flowers
-boutonniere
-invites
-favors
-and anything else I might have done it myself :)

Thanks for reading!

This week is gonna be BUUUSSSY!

This week is going to be so busy for me. Today I actually went and worked out for the first time in a while. It felt amazing :)! I am going to try and do that more often seeings as we only have a little less than four months.
Tomorrow is my dentist appointment. Wednesday is my last day at my current job. I have mixed emotions about that. I will def miss my guys but like I said before, it's time to move on. Thursday, my mom and I are going to do hair trial runs and I have my first dress fitting. I am super excited to do it all in the same day cuz I will get to see how the finished product will look :) YAY!

This weekend we have a wedding and a going away party for Bill's cousin. Super nervous about that cuz I know I will miss him :(.

I can't wait to get on track with the new job so we can start paying off wedding debt. We still have the dj, the videographer, and the caterer. Augh. It's gonna take some serious work to not spend extra money but I know we can do it. It's amazing how much work you put into one day. Not saying it's not worth it, but, it IS one day.

One week...

One week from today is my last day at my current job. It's sort of sad yet at the same time I am overjoyed lol...I will miss the guys but it's time to move on. It will be nice to have the same hours as Bill.
Also one week and a day from today, is my first dress fitting and my first hair trial run. This should be fun. I am really very nervous to do it all at the same time, I guess cuz it makes it so much more real lol..
I think here in the next few days, I am going to start working on invitations and my card box. I would really like to finish both before the middle of August..

One week. and my life will be changing :)

4 Months and Counting!

Holy moly! 4 Months left!! We have so much to do still and it's getting harder to not do wedding stuff lol..I think the thing I am worried about more than anything is how were going to pay for the catering. When I start my new job (July 26), we're planning on making payments towards it. We have so many bills augh! Plus we're trying to do something great for my parents this year for their 25th anniversary. It'll all come together. It always does.
Last night we bought the stuff to make our card box. I cannot wait to finish it :) that will probably be a task for this weekend. It seems like everything is sorta falling into place. I can't believe we are 4 months away.

When I start my new job, I have some goals for me and Bill. We're going to start making sure to make healthy dinners to eat together (cannot wait ! First time in 2 years!) We are going to take classes at the ymca and start working out regularly. We are going to walk more and swim more. We are going to eat out less. And hopefully by the wedding, we are both healthy and in shape :)
Anyway, that's it for now..
Thanks for reading, if there is someone out there reading

When you pray...He does hear.

I have been praying for this new job since I interviewed. Well I got a call back and God listened. I got the job!! Went and did my drug screen today and my start date is July 26. I put in my 2 weeks yesterday and that was actually harder than I thought it would be because I will actually miss my clients that I have. ;(

Another good thing happened yesterday. Our invites came in the mail!!! They look absolutely stunning and I seriously cannot wait to mail them out!! YAY!
Sigh. I spose that's it for the moment. Will let you know as more stuff happens!

This could be a good day

Well, I am supposed to be hearing from my potential new job today hopefully. They had yesterday off and are supposed to be looking back over my stuff to **hopefully** offer me a job. I seriously hope they do because this is honestly hell for me and bill to be going through. We never see each other and it's starting to get to us. I tried talking to my current boss about switching my hours and all I keep getting is "be patient, give us time". Well I have given them since March. AUGH.

Anyway, on a better note...I looked at the tracking information our invitations. They are in Omaha and out for delivery! That means..hopefully we get them today!! YAYAYAYAYAAY!!!!! I cannot wait to see them!

That's about it for now...Don't have too much on my mind right now other than hoping to get a call back today...I don't know what's going to happen if I don't get this job. It could def be a bad thing.
To any and all readers, just pray. <3

New Job?

Well a few days ago I had an interview for a job outside of my educational realm. I think it might be good to try something new for a while. I have never worked at job where you get holidays off, holiday pay, weekends off, or m-f normal hours. I am very scared but it seems like it might be ok. I am very hopeful that the job I want in the future will be mine when the time is right. Just have to have faith. I have a year left of school to get my BA in Psychology. Once that happens, many jobs will open up for me, but until then, I am tired of the place I am at right now, and I need a change. I love my clients, but it's too much emotionally to be separated from the love of my life for hours and hours...and only see him for 1 hour each day. :( too much for me to take!!! Esp with so much wedding stuff to get done...

On the wedding note :)

I got two emails yesterday.
One from our invitation place. Our order has been shipped!! ETA?? Next Thursday!! YAY!!
Also got an email that our E-pix photo book has shipped :) should be here by next Tuesday!! DOUBLE YAY!!!

To any and all of my readers, if you are out there..
pray that needs to happen, happens. Whatever is right for me, I know God is going to give me.
